I could do without the over the top SM apparel, but I loved the discussion on trust the the double meaning it plays in the context of the series premise.

Yeah, doesn't remind me of anything at all...

A great example of how ratings don't work.

I read scifi forums about various shows... almost everyone agrees that Dollhouse how has gotten better with every episode, yet the ratings have gone consistantly down.

watch it on their website, it gives them hard #s; it hasn't been renewed yet, but neither has it been canceled yet.

Too bad it's a Joss Whedon show, though. Even when he does come up with decent concepts, he manages to make them unbearably awful.

That and his supposed feminism is completely disingenuous. Much like, say, Disney's affinity for selling sex to kids via pop songs.

All the reviews I heard of Dollhouse was that it sucked, but people kept watching because it was a Joss Whedon show. Did the episodes get better, or did people just start rationalizing more?

To be perfectly honest, it sounds like a concept that only the Japanese could really pull off.

The first three episodes were mediocre to awful. Around episode five it got good, and keeps getting better.
